Beneficial Management Practice (BMP) Funding

THE AWSA IS NOW TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR THE NEW CANADIAN AGRICULTURAL PARTNERSHIP (CAP) FUNDING. PLEASE CALL US AT 306-783-1693 FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Beneficial Management Practices or BMPs as they're commonly called, refer to a wide variety of agricultural practices aimed at reducing the environmental impact of farming activities on the landscape, for example: forage seeding, exclusion fencing, corral relocations and improved stream crossings just to name a few. Through the Farm Stewardship Program (FSP) producers are eligible to receive cost-shared funding for the implementation of BMPs on their land.

The Assiniboine Watershed Stewardship Association (AWSA) is assisting in the implementation of the FSP by offering producers in the Assiniboine River Watershed access to BMP funding through their Agri-Environmental Group Plan (AEGP).

Producers within the 24 RMs of the greater Assiniboine River Watershed are able to complete an application with the AWSA in order to access funding for their particular projects.
