The Assiniboine Watershed Stewardship Association (AWSA) is seeking the services of a full time Watershed Technologist I to fill a one year maternity leave position.  The Watershed Technologist I will work closely with the Manager, Watershed Technologist II, Administrator and Board of Directors of the AWSA to assist in the implementation and promotion of source water protection projects and programming in the Assiniboine River Watershed. The ideal candidate will have completed post-secondary education in geography, biology, agriculture, or the environmental fields.  The candidate must be a leader with a strong work ethic that is dedicated, positive and energetic with superior communication and organizational skills.  They should understand the theories of the management and conservation of soils and water as they apply to integrated watershed management.  Having knowledge and experience in agriculture with familiarity of the Yorkton area is a definite asset. The candidate must possess strong computer skills – Email, Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher. The candidate must have and maintain a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Provincial driver’s license and be able to provide a vehicle for work purposes.  All work related travel expenses will be reimbursed by the AWSA.

This is a full time position located in Yorkton, SK (8:00 am – 5:00 pm) for a one year period with a tentative start day of March 28, 2016.  The Watershed Technologist Level I position will be a balance of field and office work.  All overtime hours are banked time. The AWSA provides 12 Earned Days Off per year. Salary is $42,500.00 for the one year position.
